Scandinavian windows
Scandinavian windows
Application:
Scandinavian windows (opening outwards) are a typical window joinery system used on the Danish, Swedish and Norwegian markets. They are used in residential construction, both in new buildings and in the modernization of existing buildings.
Characteristics:
Various opening options: side-hung (SIDE HUNG), top-hung (TOP HUNG), vertical pivot (SIDE SWING PROJECTING) and horizontal pivot (TOP SWING)
Equipment:
Standard: handle (offset) on the inside.
Option: lockable handle, window locking with hooks/strikers
Advantages:
– very good window tightness (wind pressure presses the sash against the frame)
– space saving inside the room (allows the use of e.g. an internal window sill)
– available in many different opening options – depending on customer needs
– possibility of obtaining interesting functions related to window usability
– the mechanism of some types of Scandinavian windows allows the sash to be rotated by 170 degrees, enabling cleaning of the external window surface from the inside.
