Care and maintenance of windows
Dirt on the surface of the frames should be removed using lukewarm water with standard household cleaning agents. Do not use scouring powders, wire brushes, or cleaning agents containing solvents.
The lower horizontal elements of frames and sashes are equipped with drainage holes for rainwater, which must not be covered. The protective foil on the profiles of the frame and sash should be removed no later than 3 months after installation.
The seals used are made of EPDM material, resistant to ageing and weather conditions. It is recommended to maintain the seals once a year by lubricating them with silicone oil (available commercially as automotive seal care).
The glazing used in the windows is made of float glass. Any dirt should be removed only with lukewarm water and standard household cleaning agents. The glass must be protected from contamination with mortar and corrosive substances that may chemically react with the glass and cause stains.
The windows are equipped with adjustable perimeter hardware by MACO. This type of hardware ensures proper sealing between the sash and the frame around the entire perimeter, providing tightness even during strong winds and heavy rain.
NOTE:
PVC windows manufactured by AGAT+ are very airtight. To ensure proper air exchange in the room, short and intensive ventilation is required. All tilt-and-turn (TT) sashes are equipped with special hardware that allows them to be set in a “micro-ventilation” position.
The fittings must be protected from mortar. To reduce movement resistance, regular maintenance is required. Once a year, all movable parts should be cleaned from dust and plaster particles and lubricated (technical petroleum jelly or universal oil).
